The care program
We approach diagnostics and support in a structured way — so that every patient receives a complete, coherent care pathway. Each stage builds on the previous. You start with a questionnaire — we coordinate everything else.
The starting point is a comprehensive questionnaire about your current condition: symptoms, course, prior diagnostics, and quality of life. You or your caregivers complete it fully in your own time — the questionnaire can be paused at any time and worked on across multiple sessions.
Once we have received your questionnaire, Sharpa sends you a structured summary for your records, while you prepare for the further tests and in-depth assessment in stage 2. This structured summary covers all questions and answers from the questionnaire and provides, where needed, a good basis for consultations with other physicians.
Two functional tests that can be performed at home complement the questionnaire with objective measurements: the hand-grip strength test and the NASA Lean Test. Where needed, Sharpa supports you in obtaining the necessary equipment.
Based on the questionnaire, the functional tests, and any prior results — such as earlier lab findings or medical diagnoses — Sharpa compiles an assessment dossier. This forms the basis for an initial medical assessment and recommendation for the subsequent laboratory diagnostics.
The blood draw is performed by a professional at your home — no travel, no waiting room. The selected lab parameters are aligned with the current state of research on Long Covid and ME/CFS feed into your assessment dossier and are essential for the further medical evaluation.
The scope of diagnostics is determined individually based on the findings from stage 2, and the costs are calculated accordingly.
Sharpa coordinates the blood draw appointment and submits all findings to the treating physician in a structured, processed form.
Based on all available data — questionnaire, functional tests, medical reports, and lab findings — a 45- to 60-minute consultation with a specialised partner physician takes place. You participate comfortably from home; the consultation is held telemedically by video.
The physician validates and interprets the assessments from the previous stages, clarifies open questions, and finally drafts your individual, mechanism-based therapy plan — targeted at the specific disease drivers identified in your assessment.
Sharpa prepares the complete assessment dossier ahead of the consultation, coordinates the appointment, and shares the finalised therapy plan with you afterwards.
During the therapy phase, Sharpa takes on full orchestration of all aspects not exclusively reserved for the physician: allocation of therapy slots, appointments, logistics, transport, accommodation (where needed), shipping to your home (where possible), support with infection protection, progress monitoring and ongoing, Pacing-compliant adjustment of the plan. Throughout this phase you have one dedicated contact person.
The actual costs depend heavily on the individual therapy plan and, based on experience, range between CHF 4,000 and CHF 30,000.
Therapeutic modalities within the care program
An important therapy option within the care program in the form of H.E.L.P. apheresis and immunoadsorption. Performed in specialised partner centres.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be part of the treatment depending on the individual therapy plan.
Following medical assessment, can be combined with apheresis to leverage therapeutic synergy effects.
Infusion therapies are among the possible treatment forms. In more severe cases, these can also be administered directly at your home.
Sharpa coordinates shipping, on medical instruction, directly to your home.
Targeted stimulation of nerves or brain regions to alleviate symptoms and improve overall condition.
For modulation of the immune system, containment of inflammatory processes, and improved oxygen supply to tissue.
Sharpa names the possible treatment forms — selection, combination, frequency, and sequence are exclusively the treating physician's decision. No therapy element is used without medical instruction.
On request, Sharpa prepares a complete reimbursement dossier: a structured documentation of the therapy evidence for your individual case, supplemented by follow-up diagnostics and concrete recommendations on the path to coverage by your health insurer.
